In honor of my cousins
Tonight starts Yom Hazikaron, the day to remember the fallen Israeli soldiers and victims of terror. Tomorrow night and Thursday is Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israeli Independence Day. I like how the sad day of remembrance is followed directly by the celebratory day.
This post is in honor of my “little” cousins (they are not so little anymore) that serve in the Israeli army. And in memory of the friends whose funerals they have had to attend.
Tough day.

Batya, I can’t even imagine what to say to the people, to the families, that really live through this.
