But part of my post was to illustrate that there have been those in Iran who got along well with the Jews, including my friend who now lives in the Boston area. She would not feel comfortable going back to Iran either, because she would have to wear the veil the whole time, and she would not be able to be herself. Although not a Jew, I can only seethe when people make offhand remarks about Jews ("Jewing the price down' - this is the most odious of what I hear. I hate it...). Maybe being disabled makes the slurs more real to me. Interestingly, I saw something on CNN the other day about Christians in Iran, and lip servive about religious tolerance in Iran seems to be lacking... It’s good to know that Jews were helped in Iran, or anywhere.
