Today’s Flowers: Dianthus

dianthus
This dianthus is the last flower in my front yard, other than a straggly, lanky, tall yellow snapdragon. It waves its purplish pink petals at us, like a flag of surrender to the oncoming winter months.

Today’s Flowers is hosted by Luiz Santilli Jr. Thank you, Luiz, for this lovely and comforting meme.

Or a brave Lone Ranger surviving against all odds. Ever thought of rewarding it by potting it up and having it on your window sill?

What a beautiful flower, a very hardy little thing to survive this cold weather we're having. Great photo!

It is sad to say that we have a last flower in our garden but then we can dream about the flowers that will grace our Spring gardens and wake us from a long winter hibernation! I post my last pedals also.
Have a good week!

Very nice shot. I really like that color. It's hard to watch the flowers disappear isn't it?

It is a comforting meme after recent events....thank you for finding a nice way to correct my spelling of Ithaca...Your way looks much better than mine....I have been playing with the themes. I wish I could get one that would do what I really want. But playing with it has been a good stress reducer for me as I am not yet up to doing all the things that need to be done..
