Today’s Flowers: Gazania

gardillia
I took a photo of this flower in September, and I would love to grow it in my garden. It looks a lot like gaillardia, but those don’t seem to have stripes like this flower. I believe it’s a gazania (thank you, Sara!) in the asteraceae family.

Today’s Flowers is hosted by Luiz Santilli Jr. Thank you, Luiz, for this lovely and fun meme.

Hi Leora,

Maybe a gazania? Not sure of the spelling. They are similar to gaillardia, I think. In any case, a lovely photo of a charming flower, happy in the sunlight. Plus a great shadow you could post for Shadow Shot Sunday also, at http://heyharriet.blogspot.com/

Gazanias are just great here because they grow anywhere and don't need much water. I liked the stripes in this gazania.
