    Hello Leora,
    The cars, both shape and number revealed the year.
    The mid-fifty feeling is definitely there.
    Silent and dignified, half asleep, half waiting for something undefined to happen.
    Like being youg.

    The cars really are all that gives it away.
    This reminds me of the street my girlfriend lived on when we were teenagers.

    I actually had a shot without the cars. But I kinda liked them. Glad you are having fun with this.

    EG Wow: Highland Park is full of small, older homes (and a few big ones). Hard to get a 4 bedroom. I think those are two-family homes.

    The Volvo on the end, although modern, does not take the 1950 out of this picture. Sepia makes the shot look older than it is, and perfect for that era…or this one too. Perfect!

    It could certainly pass but for the cars. If you could get a shot of clothes on the lines in the backyards, you could sell it as 1950 — or even earlier — and nobody’d ever suspect differently.
