Found Objects In Highland Park

Here is an event that is going on in Highland Park: a Found Objects Art Show (click to enlarge). What is a Found Object Art Show? I’m not quite sure, but Pino’s is right in the center of Highland Park, so I think I should be able to attend and find out. Rick Black of www.turtlelightpress.com sent me this poster. The poster is by Bill Bonner.

What are artists in your area doing?

Intriguing but I guess you will see interesting recycled “objects”. Keep us informed.

  2. Rick Black says:

The idea is to use objects that people have tossed out in new ways, thus recycling them into art. It should be fun to see things we’ve discarded in a different context.

  3. Robin says:

Sounds like a fun theme for a show – you’ll have to go and let us know what you find.

  4. I love the idea of recycling things into art. We have a big art show here in June with artists from all over the country. I will have to do a post on that…

  5. Somewhere in the mists of time I wrote an essay on living your life as a piece of found art. The idea was that the events life presented to you were beyond your control, but how you incorporated those events into your life was not.

Sounds like an interesting essay, Larry. If you ever find it, it would make a nice guest post. With one of the pics I plan to take of the show.
