LOVELY! And fun! And I bet summer is when you have the MOST time to do things like that… I mean relaxing enough to draw something! And then have time to colorize it!

  3. phyllis says:

that is SO AWESOME. Leora, you never fail to impress me with your artistic talents!!!

  4. kaye says:

that is really neat, thanks for stopping by.

  5. Ellie says:

It summarizes summer! Beach chair and the sounds of waves! Good drawing – very creative! That is an extra effort – not just a snap – but a vision!

    • Leora says:

Funny, I don’t think of this as extra effort, but an excuse to do some art! I haven’t found any good art memes, but the photo memes like this one Robin created are so fantastic, why not throw in a bit of drawing? It’s a pleasure for me to colorize, sheer fun!

  6. Robin says:

That is SO cool! Great drawing, and I love the life that just a few dabs of color brings to it. You are really talented Leora.

  7. Carletta says:

I have to echo everyone’s sentiments – really nice work!
Love the added color – brings nice depth to the image.
    Lovely!

  8. Ilana-Davita says:

That’s great Leora. Both a wonderful idea and a splendid drawing.

  9. Mrs. S. says:

How charming! You really managed to capture summer’s mood – lazy, laid-back, relaxing, and fun…

    Have a great week!

  10. bim says:

What a lovely thing to do on the beach.

  11. Oh, that is just awesome! I’m so envious of anyone who can draw. I seem to be the only one in my family who didn’t inherit that talent. So tell me, are those shark fins in the water? If I could draw, I think the next picture would be of me running! LOL

    • Leora says:

Shark fins, huh? Supposed to be sailboats. I’ll have to think about how to make them less creepy looking in future drawings. Appreciate the feedback.

  12. Great fun! I like seeing the before and after shots. The drawings seemed to capture the feel of the wind on the water very well.

  13. Patty Reiser says:

Like everyone else, I too believe you have quite a talent.

Wishing you a scent-sational summer stock sunday!

  14. So cool! Can you teach me how to colorize my sketches???

  15. Sarah says:

Hey I really like these! Especially with the photoshop coloring! :D Love it!!!!
And thank you for visiting my blog! Love the flower photos as well!

  16. There aren’t any art memes? Not being artistic, I hadn’t noticed…But I like this drawing and then what you did playing around with it…

    • Leora says:

I think I have grown attached to my photograhy meme pals. So I like the idea of sometimes doing a bit of art instead of a photo. A fun twist.

I found one art meme, but it was way too serious. You got rejected if you didn’t follow the host’s rules. Not my thing.

  17. Indrani says:

    Cool!
    You are talented.

  18. Jewish Side says:

great picture, and the coloring really adds to it!

We have those same beach chairs!

  19. I just saw this link in my stats and saw it hadn’t been linked to Summer Stock so I figured I’d do you a favor and link it up – I knew you’d posted it before but I thought you’d reposted it now for Summer Stock. It wasn’t till after I did that I realized that it had been for last year’s SS. (This is all a very long way of explaining why your link is up over at my place – just chalk it up to good intentions LOL. They’re wonderful drawings though, and so summery. Definitely worth sharing twice :) .)

  20. Julia Smith says:

What a great idea! And I like how you gave us both versions – I do like your dashes of color.

  21. quilly says:

These are great. I loved the colorized version but wished to see the original — then I scrolled down and there it was! Excellent.

  22. Dianne says:

    I love your drawing!!
    both colorized and original
    it’s a great scene!!

  23. Mama Pajama says:

Oooh, fun! What a great idea, I like them!

  24. Leora, love your colorized drawings. Is that The Jersey Shore? I’ve been to the shore lots, not so recently though… :)
