LOVELY! And fun! And I bet summer is when you have the MOST time to do things like that... I mean relaxing enough to draw something! And then have time to colorize it!

It summarizes summer! Beach chair and the sounds of waves! Good drawing - very creative! That is an extra effort - not just a snap - but a vision!

Leora says

Funny, I don't think of this as extra effort, but an excuse to do some art! I haven't found any good art memes, but the photo memes like this one Robin created are so fantastic, why not throw in a bit of drawing? It's a pleasure for me to colorize, sheer fun!

That is SO cool! Great drawing, and I love the life that just a few dabs of color brings to it. You are really talented Leora.

Oh, that is just awesome! I'm so envious of anyone who can draw. I seem to be the only one in my family who didn't inherit that talent. So tell me, are those shark fins in the water? If I could draw, I think the next picture would be of me running! LOL

Leora says

Shark fins, huh? Supposed to be sailboats. I'll have to think about how to make them less creepy looking in future drawings. Appreciate the feedback.

Great fun! I like seeing the before and after shots. The drawings seemed to capture the feel of the wind on the water very well.

There aren't any art memes? Not being artistic, I hadn't noticed...But I like this drawing and then what you did playing around with it...

Leora says

I think I have grown attached to my photograhy meme pals. So I like the idea of sometimes doing a bit of art instead of a photo. A fun twist.

I found one art meme, but it was way too serious. You got rejected if you didn't follow the host's rules. Not my thing.

I just saw this link in my stats and saw it hadn't been linked to Summer Stock so I figured I'd do you a favor and link it up - I knew you'd posted it before but I thought you'd reposted it now for Summer Stock. It wasn't till after I did that I realized that it had been for last year's SS. (This is all a very long way of explaining why your link is up over at my place - just chalk it up to good intentions LOL. They're wonderful drawings though, and so summery. Definitely worth sharing twice :).)

These are great. I loved the colorized version but wished to see the original -- then I scrolled down and there it was! Excellent.

Leora, love your colorized drawings. Is that The Jersey Shore? I've been to the shore lots, not so recently though... :)

Reply
Leora says

Yes, it most certainly is the Jersey Shore. Is it Sandy Hook? I can't remember. Probably.
