For my own personal favorite, I’ll pick:
Brett Helquist, who illustrated Lemony Snickets’ A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Are any of these your favorite(s)? Any other illustrators you would like to mention?

I have to go with Maurice Sendak, for the Little Bear series.

  4. John Tenniel was also a well-known political cartoonist, most famous for his cartoon Dropping the Pilot.

I’d add E. H. Shepard, the original illustrator of Winnie the Pooh.

  5. Ilana-Davita says:

Thanks for a lot of names I didn’t know.

  6. Ellie says:

It is unfair – I often remember the author but rarely the illustrators. I feel guilty. Have to start paying attention tomorrow

  7. I have such a special place for the Winnie-the-Pooh books as they were a warm fuzzy place to retreat to in a very challenging childhood…
