Yes, those are from last year. Actually, they are fried in oil. But you stick 'em on a paper towel, so they don't taste greasy at all.

The recipe is make a sugary yeast dough, divide into little balls, plop in very hot oil, turn immediately in the hot oil, remove from oil after only a few minutes, put on paper towel to drain. Sprinkle with confectionary sugar.
