Robin Red Breast

March 21st, 2011 by

robin on a branch
It was nice to catch a robin on the branch of a tree in my backyard last week. Happy as I should be for signs of spring like the red-breasted robin, I am sad that my favorite holiday of Purim is over.

  2. Why is it that robins fill us with hope and awe and wonder? (Sounds like a good subject for a poem, doesn’t it?)

    A TOUCH OF RED

They say that just one touch of red
Will put big, bold thoughts in your head.
    So scarlet’s for you,
    And burgundy too,
    And cardinal and carmine—all red!

Lovely photos, Leora! Two robins moved into my yard last week, which made me very happy too. :)

This is a lovely bird, so easy to spot minus the foliage. Could he/she be looking around for a mate or perhaps nesting materials for the blessed event in April. Perhaps aware of a photo artist in the neighborhood, to? A beautiful ruby subject!

What lovely captures of the robin. It is one of my favorite birds, next to cardinals, blue jays and American goldfinches.

Ahhhh, spring is here…the robins return to sing their song.

The Robins are beautiful. I hope they soon will arrive to create some spring air in our garden too.
I love the story about Esther and Mordecai.
I also think it’s a great thing to celebrate religious feasts. It makes us more aware about what our belief really is about, and it’s good bonding families together.
We sure can do with a spiritual rooting in our lives, now, more than ever.

I’m seeing more and more robins everyday. We had a nice warm rain today and the yard looks greener – spring is springing forth.
Lovely shot of the robin Leora!

  11. I love hearing everyone sing the praises of the Robin ;)

Lovely spring photos Leora, even better for their subject being one that is near to my heart.
