Review with Purim Presents
Every year we decorate old oatmeal containers (and sometimes matza meal containers) with pictures and coat them with modge podge to create Purim gifts. We give these away to some of our friends. This year, my son decided to put comics and homemade Purim cards on his containers. My daughter opted for photos of her friends on her containers.

We've been doing this for so many years... we save those oatmeal containers for a whole year (and yes, we do eat a lot of oatmeal, at least my husband and I do). When I started, I did most of the work and my kids would glue on stickers. This year, my son did his totally on his own, and my daughter mostly did hers on her own (though I helped her find the photos of her friends; after all, I took the pictures!).

I so love this idea. It could be applied to other celebrations, too, such as Hanukkah, or even for Passover, filled with morsel delights.

There is a stressful side to all this, too, though- we have to start preparing for Purim far in advance! But we had fun doing them.

Well, two out of three. My eldest doesn't do arts and crafts projects, not his thing. But he does do some cooking for Shabbat (schnitzel and sweet-and-sour meatballs are his specialties).

I recognized the matzah containers! It is nice that your children have their own ideas about how the containers should be decorated.

Those are all oatmeal containers! The matza meal containers are smaller. Yes, we value their individuality.
