![]() This immature red-headed woodpecker hanging around Donaldson Park's weeping willows is a threatened species in New Jersey. Another frequents Johnson Park's oaks by the first parking area in from the Cedar Lane entrance. These immatures still had their brownish heads through November and December 2002 sightings. A possible third--adult with full red head--was reported in January 2003 at the intersection of Cedar Lane and River Road. Is the adult just the Johnson bird grown up? Or its parent? Will any stay and nest? Let us hear of sightings. |
