My candlesticks sit all week awaiting Shabbat. The candles, however, never do look like this, because they are always totally used up each Shabbat. So the mystery of this painting is: why the snuffed out candles? What's the story here? Also, these architecturally Greek looking candlesticks are not at all like the funky moon and sun candlesticks I have at home. My favorite part of this painting is the wallpaper.
