Sky Watch: Urban Drama

Raritan Avenue sunset
I would prefer just to be writing about the sunset my daughter and I saw on Raritan Avenue in Highland Park earlier this week. When we got into the car and I took my camera, she made me promise not to photograph any flowers on our trip. But she didn’t say anything about sunsets.

Unfortunately, there is too much urban drama going on in the home city of photo blogger magiceye. As I type this post, I am wondering about the safety of the Chabad rabbi and his wife, trapped by terrorists in the Nariman house in Mumbai. (Update: Chabad Rabbi and his wife in Nariman house reported killedtortured and then murdered, and more than 125 too many reported dead in Mumbai). Thank you to Dina in Jerusalem for posting about this. To use Twitter for updates, go to http://search.twitter.com/search?q=%23mumbai or click http://hashtags.org/tag/mumbai/. For updates on Chabad, http://search.twitter.com/search?q=nariman (Nariman is the name of the Chabad house in Mumbai).

An upsetting post about the Taj by an eyewitness

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I’ll say I’m thankful that there is an America.

Absolutely horrific. So much death. So much hatred.

Apparently 8 captives have just been freed from Mumbai Chabad center.
Thanks for your lovely and warm photo.

It is a beautiful picture, but unfortunately there is so much that is ugly, terrifying and so sad in the world today. I do worry about our friends in Mumbai.

Beautiful sunset capture. As for the hatred we have seen in Mumbai over the past 24 hours, I don't know what to say.

I also am happy that I live in the greatest country in the world.

Hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Nice picture of an urban sunset!
Makes it special!
I share with you the greef of terrorism that struck again!
It spreds to steady new areas!
In Norway the main newspapers the last days debate antisemittism in Norway, special in media. Its presentation of the matters has great influence on people here.

Unfortunately the Chabad house is still captive and the status of the shluchim is still not confirmed. Their 2 yr old son is safe due to a cook that grabbed him and ran. Please continue to say tehillim for Gavriel Noach Ben Freida Bluma, Rivkah Bas Yehudis. May this sad sad day end with good news of our dear Shluchim.

Yes, very interesting photo.....the sunset sky and the car lights and the little bits of leaves clinging to the tree. Great scene!

Oh, my....I just watched a news report from Mumbai....what a terrible situation. My prayers go out to all involved.

In all this devastation your photo is very beautiful. All seems to be so senseless, so sad.

Not much drama going on there, but the view of the sunsets is still looking good :)

Hope the Mumbai case will be long over with peace restoration.

Leora: What a busy plave for your sky capture, we capture the skies we see.
I'm glad the blimp brought a smile to you.

Hi Leora! Your picture shows so much movement. Yet, there is a sense of peace and quite beauty.

At this moment the Jewish Center has been taken over by the commandos. The bulk of the military has left. Five bodies have been found. No word on the status of the Rabi and his wife.

I like the colors in your sky shot. My prayers and thoughts are with everyone affected by what's going on in Mumbai.

I like your street scene, it has a wonderful November sky feel to it

I just now heard that their child was safe. I find it so very painful to watch the news. I also find it so disrespectful that reports from Mumbai followed news of Black Friday shopping.

Peace

How terrible! I clicked some of the links, and I am without words.
This should not be happening.
I hope a better world lies ahead of us ... someday ...

Your sunset is like a prayer for all those who will never enjoy an other. Where will man's inhumanity to man end?
