Painting by My Daughter

painting by 7 year old girl
My daughter did this painting about two weeks ago, after our winter vacation.
What do you see?

Note: When I photographed it, the painting was curled; my daughter didn’t paint it with the curl at the top. Maybe I could have taped it down before photographing it. Next time.

Jew Wishes says

What a lovely painting! I like the vibrant tones she presents us.

I see trees with a two story structure (ski jump and take off) in between the trees, with skiers. I also see a blue tent with a dog outside of it and a fire going. I like the blue sky and clouds.

That's a wonderful painting. I see a skier in front of the house. Then there's a tent on the left hand side with a campfire in front of it. Behind the tent I think I see a small airplane or helicopter and behind that a person with either a sled or maybe a snowmobile or maybe a water boat. I also see a large tree on either side of the picture. If I got anything wrong it's the fault of my visual perceptions not of the talented artist.

Blue sky and winter fun. Your daughter is a happy child if you judge her by her artwork Leora

Thanks for the reminder that she is a happy child! I'll have to remember that the next she is not exactly, ahem, in a great mood.

Looks like a wonderful ski vacation - lucky girl to have had it and all the good memories that came along with it.

The Olympics!
She painted a vivid portrait of the Olympics!
Tell her «Louis» would frame this. ;-)
As Jew Wishes wrote, she certainly used vibrant colors and «Louis» also gets the impression that she is a happy child. Tell her she made «Louis» smile! ;-)

"frame" - I think I will do just that, as she is having a show with her art class next fall.

What beautiful colours! Did somebody have a bed up in the attic? I'd love to know what's going on up in the sky, on the left hand side. Is that a ski-lift?

She has a great eye :)

Ski-lift sounds about right. I haven't responded much because I haven't been able to consult with my daughter yet. Tonight is dress rehearsal, tomorrow ballet show, so she's going to be pretty busy the next two days.

I'm constantly amazed and impressed at how your daughter's work keeps getting more sophisticated and more elaborate! May you continue to have much nachat from her and from all your children.

Shabbat Shalom.

Jill, I think this one might get framed! I love it. She really captured the scene from our trip.
