I thought I was going to have to say, oh, I’ve been seeing blue jays in my backyard. And post some fall foliage. But this morning I went outside at 7 am to photograph some pretty leaves (see bottom photo), and who did I see but blue jays, at least three?
Pretty fellas, aren’t they?
I am pleased with this fall foliage shot. You can learn more in this post about American Sycamores, the tree with the peeling bark.
And here are the burning bush red leaves that brought me outside at 7 am. You can also see some of these leaves in the header of this blog. The small green leaves are sweet woodruff; those will show white flowers in the spring.
Blue in the garden is always welcome, be it blue jays, blue birds, or bluebells.
Nice reds in your leaves.
What beautiful reds and blues! Pure loveliness.
How nice to see blue jays. I just read that some migrate and others stay for the winter…Love the beautiful foliage and I learned something so it’s a good day….Michelle
The blue jays must have posed just for your post. Great shots of them and also beautiful fall foliage.
What lovely birds!
The other photos are also really nice: lovely combination of colrs. Thanks for sharing.
Great photos Leora, and your blue jays were very cute. I love the little fellas, they’re so feisty, I watch the ones out back and they swoop in and gather the peanuts a lot of the time before the squirrels get to them on my deck. So entertaining to watch their antics.
they’re such colourful birds aren’t they! Our jays only have a small bit of blue on them…
And I saw more blue jays on Saturday – either they are really enjoying our block at this time of year or I never noticed them before.
Love bluejays, but bluebirds even more. Unfortunately, we never get bluebirds in our yard. And of course, any bird of color is welcome.
