It’s so hard for me to do Nature Notes at this time of year. It’s been icy cold outside, and there is no fun snow to make up for the frigid weather.
I took these photos of the brook near my home last week, when it was a bit warmer. At least this one has some green from the ivy.
Last year on December 31, 2009, there was a lot of snow by the brook. Will there be snow this year in late December? Other than flurries, we’ve had none.
Ah, the hawthorn berries are in season!
Pretty hawthorn berries. They have a lot of medicinal value! ~karen
I am so happy to see you post Leora…My daughter and her fiance drove down to NJ to Cherry Hill to visit with her grandmother, aunt and uncle. I think she said it rained some. I understand the lack of motivation. The gray gets to me along with the short days. I have to go out to take care of the bird feeders otherwise I might sit on the couch… so I am going to post some NN from the summer to cheer me up…..Michelle
It looks so cold. Do hope you get some snow.
love the berries. Charmaine
Goodness, you can have some of the snow the UK has been experiencing this winter – we’ve had quite enough, I think!
Lovely hawthorn berries – and that photo of the snowy brook looks very wintry, I really wanted to put another jumper on!
“jumper” – is that a sweater? I call a jumper a dress without sleeves that a girl would wear over a shirt.
It’s nice to see the brook during different seasons and the berries photo is very nice too.
I love those red berries. I know what you mean about it being hard to get outside. Some days I have to make myself go out and take pictures. All of these shots are very beautiful to me.
You’ve really captured the wintry scene beautifully with these photos. Your close-up on the berries is so pretty, a splash of color to brighten anyone’s day.
