I was excited on Sunday when my daughter ran in to tell me a whole lineup of birds were taking turns at our feeder. I rushed to find my camera, and when I got outside, some of them were still there.
I like how the bird below is looking up at the other bird.
One bird left – what does she see?
A lady cardinal has landed in a nearby tree.
Survival of the fittest: this rhododendron, draped in icicles, appears to be weak and perhaps dead. The one next to it that I can see from my kitchen window has formed healthy buds and promises to be pink as soon as spring shows up.
Wow! Those are some really nice icicles! We had our snow the day after Christmas.. so I bought a snow shovel.. simply to ward of the snow for the rest of the season. So far it has worked!!
Those icicles are gorgeous. I hope your rhododendron makes it. I’ve had them look close to death but survive. I finally lost one but that was to drought some years ago. Nice seeing all the birds that visited your feeder.
gorgeous pictures but make me freeze
What lovely captures of the birds! I love Ms. Cardinal, she looks so cute sitting there.
The cardinals, wrens and finches are always there, in winter, no matter how cold, for feeding.
I like the first two shots with the window in the background.
The house sparrows are enjoying the feeder. They don’t usually eat the sunflowers seeds so there should be some left for the cardinal. … Looks so cold and snowy where you are.. Awful winter for your area…Michelle
Great capture of lovely birds!
I love those icicles on the rhododendron. How nice that your daughter is noticing the birds and calling you out to see them!
