Today’s post is dedicated to the beautiful lady cardinal I photographed this morning in my backyard. Regarding the title of this post, my children asked me what team I support. I think they were expecting me to say Giants or Patriots. I said cardinals, and of course, you know I mean the red birds that eat from my bird feeder and hang around on the burning bush shrub whenever it gets cold. When it warms up, I no longer see cardinals.
Another shot of the femme fatale female cardinal who was in my backyard several hours after sunrise.
Did I mention sunrise? It was bright pink outside early this morning.
I will let one of my bird knowledgeable friends identify this bird. Michelle says it’s a black capped chickadee.
Some of you may notice I added a little “Pin It” button to my posts. I have grown quite fond of Pinterest, a social media platform for pinning images unto boards (and viewing tons of beauty of your choice – I follow a lot of art boards). Feel free to follow me on Pinterest as well. Thank you!
Wonderful birds, lovely shots of the cardinal.
Thanks!
She certainly is lovely and I have a male her for her if she wants to relocate… The little bird is a black-capped chickadee and they are friendly, talkative little birds…I love them and I love the title of this post…Michelle
I believe her male beau is hanging out on the burning bush on the side of our house. He is often there when it is cold enough to snow. I have a hard time photographing him, because he is inside a lot of branches, and the camera focuses on the branches.
Thanks for identifying the black-capped chickadee. I’ve seen them before in our backyard.
I really love that shot of sunrise (I need to get up earlier!).
I get up too early. It’s still dark here.
What a beautiful femme fatale she is. I love her face, very expressive. More so than the males, whose expressions often get lost within the redness of their feathers.
Sunrise…so vibrant and beautiful.
I would have never known about the faces. Thank you.
beautifully captured!
go cardinals go!!!
🙂
Great shots of the cardinal and chickadee. The sunrise is also lovely.
What pretty birds – the cardinals and the chickadee – great pictures -and what a beautiful sunrise – Jane UK
Great shot of the female cardinal. The sunrise is beautiful too.
Do you have any idea whether you see the same birds each time? Shavua tov!
No idea! Sometimes we get quite a few birds at once.
I wish I had such lovely cardinals at my feeders this year! Lovely ladies.
People from Arizona will think you are a fan of their football team, the Arizona Cardinals! 🙂
Definitely looks like a Chick-a-dee-dee-dee to me, me, me!
