Pool Basketball, Anyone?

When the heat strikes, it’s fun to spend time in the pool with family, playing pool basketball, swimming mini laps, or just idling on a floating mattress. What do you like to do to cool off in the summer?

For more reflections, in the water or elsewhere, visit Weekend Reflections.

What wonderful colours! Could you please send us some of your heat?
I love to cool off in a pool or in the sea.

I'll exchange it for your rain and cool. Five helpings, please.

Would love to cool off in the "sea" - the closest I get to a sea is the Atlantic Ocean, which is like a big, salty splash attack. It's fun, but not as relaxing as fresh lake water.

Yuck, is it really #5? My husband thinks it won't go above 90 this time. I hope not.

Looks fun! I'm a pool/lake girl myself. Salt water and big waves, not so much.

Have you heard from your daughter? She must be having the time of her life right now!

She is home once again! Yes, she had a good time, but I think she prefers home food.

Wish you could come with us when we visit (it's my in-laws pool near the shore).

Great colors and contrasts, and very timely as far as refreshing looking.

I like to go to the sea, walk through the varied booths and vendors that line the boardwalk. I feel refreshed and reclaimed when near the sea. I live only about 30 minutes away, not too bad, but on the weekend, traffic is awful.

Too bad about the traffic. One of my favorite beaches in New Jersey is Sandy Hook; unfortunately, everyone else loves that beach, too. When we last went there a few years ago, traffic was awful.

We go to Asbury Park because traffic is not bad at all to get there, and it is near my in-laws.

It's been raining in the UK much of the summer. We had a dry winter and a drought was declared, and since then it's done nothing but rain! I don't mind rain as much as other people do, but it would be nice to have a bit of sunshine.

And here we keep wanting rain. Strange weather patterns (although hot and no rain is no stranger to New Jersey summers).

I like your photo. Being at the pool is a staple in our house during the summer along with smoothies.
