I’m growing these cosmos in my front yard. I started them from seed in the spring. One needs to have patience until they bloom. Now I just need to make sure they don’t develop mildew like they have in past years. I believe keep them watered every few days might help.
While cosmos are tall, portulaca or moss rose are short little flowers I grow in the area between the sidewalk and street. They have succulent stems, so they need less water than other plants. The blooms show in the late morning; at night, the blooms close down and seem to go to sleep.
These red lilies are only in bloom for a short time in my backyard, and then too soon they have a faded look. I took this photo earlier in July.
