Yes, he is a lot bigger than our other one, Bingo. And a lot feistier as well. Bingo will sit on one's lap for hours, whereas Racer scrambles all over the place.

Well, we had some days were we let him go outside, and it took almost an hour to catch him (me inside the bushes getting all scratched up in the process). I now only put him outside in a big cardboard box with no bottom. Even then, he scrambles around the box. This particular day there was a chill in the air, and we decided both guinea pigs were shivering, so we didn't stay outside long.

Maybe you should get a rabbit pen. It is the same idea as your cardboard box but there are poles and walls. The poles are stuck in the ground so the pets cannot runaway.

Yes, if we were a handier family, someone would build something like this. Maybe in the spring we'll go to the hardware store and put something together. It would be a good mother daughter learn how to use a hammer and nails experience.
