Tefillin shel yad v’shel rosh. Phylacteries, boxes for hand and head. Watercolor, ink, colored pencil, and gouache. Parashat Va’etchanan (Deuteronomy 6:8) “You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.”
