My Daughter’s Sunrise

swftomSky Watch Friday is a photo meme with photos of sunrises, sunsets, blue skies, gray skies, pink skies, dark skies and any other kind of sky posted by bloggers all over the planet.

It was early in the morning last week, and she was supposed to be getting ready for school. But when she quipped, “look a sunset,” (she’s only 6) it was hard to resist running to get the camera and taking some photos.

Then my visually observant child noticed the pink on the other side of the house as well, so I took this photo out of her other window. She eventually did get dressed and get to school (sometimes a major struggle in our household).

You're a good mom! I bet she'll be a photographer one day too. ;-)
All the best in 2009!

A Death In The Blogger World

A blogger friend lost her husband suddenly last Sunday night. I thought it would be nice to go and leave a message for her on her blog...You may know her as 'mommanator' at grannies ramblings

Two great shots. Obviously your daughter has inherited your careful eye and love of beautiful things.

The first photo is very beautiful with the background of the stark trees and the pinks and blues of the sky

Get the kid a camera now. Seriously. If she's picking out shots like this already, she could go far with the right encouragement.

My kids love to help me with my photography too. :) It's such a fun hobby to share with them.

Out of the mouths of babes...lucky you to have a handy spotter! The first one I just sink into and have a feeling of a children's story coming on.

Mojo, one of the great things about digitals is kids can learn! She actually did take one of the shots, but it was so crooked and out-of-focus that I couldn't bear to post it. My middle son does own a camera (because he broke my previous camera, so I told him he could own it if he paid in part towards it's repair).

Thanks, everyone, for the encouragement, especially in mommying little ones! We're figuring out how to sign her up for art lessons soon (and to balance that with getting the homework done).

Really pretty, and that's so cute she takes after you already, or at least she knows you well enough to know you would appreciate the pictures, what a good daughter!

and I thought it was only boys that had a hard time getting up and going to school in the morning (cause they have the yetzer hora of going to minyan).

Jewish Side, in our family it's the reverse... the boys are up and out without much hassle, the girl's the straggler...

That's a nice refreshing difference, at least that's good that the boys are up and about without a problem.

Hopefully the girl will get to it soon too.
