April Fools a few days late – have you ever seen a crocus with a red filament? I haven’t. And the petals didn’t have blue streaks, either.

This is excellent. The filament looks like coral in the deep seas.
Oh, good. I checked with 3 family members yesterday, but they *are* family members, not my Photography Observant viewers.
Coral – that’s a good name for that shade of red. The original was a pale orange.
Hehe! Very clever, Leora! ๐
The heart of the crocus is glowing!
JUST THE RIGHT THING
Bright scarlet is just the right thing
To make a sad heart start to sing;
It fills you with cheerโ
Now isnโt that clear?
Itโs better than any old bling!

Great photo! So simple, yet so beautiful. I love that glow against the whiteness.
Sorry I haven’t been around Leora.. My grandmother’s journal is finally done.. Yea… I don’t have a single bloom here except crocus and we may get snow showers later…sigh..
Wow these is really beautiful!
My RT
The original macro must be stunning!
However, these colors would indeed make a lovely crocus.
Nice processing Leora!
nice one
What a special looking crocus. Nice close up shot.
Wow! Perfect fรถr RT!
Love it!
you have created a masterpiece
I love the soft white folds and the hint of blue
and then the red just pops!!
enlarge this baby and hang her up ๐
So sweet of you to say so, Dianne.
I think I’m going to play with a magnolia bud I photographed this morning – throw some watercolor brush strokes in the background instead of just dark bokeh.
I’ve always learned that saffron is made of the stigmas in the middle of the crocus flower. The world’s most expensive spice it’s called. Your crocus must be a magnificent specimen for saffron lovers.Great flower macro.
Maybe I could learn to make saffron? Lots of crocuses on our blog for a few weeks.
