Today’s Flowers: Sedum

I grow two types of sedum in front of my house. The one in the above photo is a low lying plant that I bought several years ago. I pulled out some plants growing next to this sedum in the spring, and this summer I was rewarded with these tiny pink flowers.
This larger sedum plant I bought and planted in the early spring. You can see my yellow rudbeckia growing behind it.
Here’s an up close look at the sedum. I suppose they will get more pink and less green as fall approaches.
The photos are all lovely, each one evokes a special beauty.

Your sedum is beautiful. You’re motivating me to go try and deal with an overgrown section of my garden I can’t even walk through. I used to have sedum in part of it and still may but I’ll have to fight my way through the volunteers that are waist high to see if the sedum has survived my neglect.
Yes, I must have planted that first sedum a few years back and rediscovered it while pulling out plants/weeds in the early spring. It does seem to be the short sedums can get easily overrun by other plants.
oh, yes..more pink and here, in my garden..the are a little red…and in some weeks will be simply red…very very beautiful..dont u agree?

I knew little (except maybe to identify a tulip) before I planted my own garden. Doing these photography memes, especially this one with its flowers and many knowledgeable plant lovers, has increased my knowledge a lot. Take photos, ask questions!

Many sedums are cultivated as garden plants, due to their interesting and attractive appearance and hardiness. There are about 400 species of leaf succulents available and each is different.
