Carmi, who runs a weekly photography meme, is looking for “happy” for this week’s theme. And I missed participating in Ruby Tuesday this week, but the links are still up on Mary’s site, so here’s my Ruby Thursday post. So this post covers two photography memes.
You can tell my daughter (her name is NOT Carmi) is acting, because she’s not looking at me. Sometimes she’s a great model for the camera.
Someone is looking gleeful in this picture π
Gleeful. Great adjective for her.
Nice one. It doesn’t look staged at all.
Acting or not, she certainly looks like she’s enjoying herself.
Great picture!
I like the “Home Alone” pose…
π
Choref tov.
Mrs. S., Choref tov? (translation for non-readers of Hebrew=”Good winter”)
I was thinking of how sweet Heshvan (next Jewish month) will be with less cooking large, heavy meals that I have no desire to eat.
On Shmini Atzeret (the end of Succot), we start praying for rain. (Here in Israel, it only rains during the winter.) And so, after Shmini Atzeret, the custom is to wish everyone a “choref tov” – a “good winter”, as you correctly noted.
Mrs. S., yes, the prayer for rain makes much more sense to those who live in Israel. I’ve never been wished a good winter! I’ll pray for some snow here, in addition to prayers for rain in Israel (I like snow).
Leora, Carmi is an adorable little girl! Love the red door as background! π
I like snow
Me, too. That’s one of the things we really miss from the States…
Mary, um, Carmi is the photographer who runs Thematic Photography. Not my daughter. I’m playing two memes at once.
Glad you like the red door. It said “Ruby Tuesday” to me. So I had her do some poses in front of the door.
Way to multitask! I think you hit both themes squarely on target.
And let’s face it, is there any better model than a kid to use for the “Happy” theme? No. There is not.
What a cutie!
She is too cute for words!
THAT is a happy picture! Thanks for sharing. Of all of Carmi’s links, yours was by far the best.
Of all of Carmiβs links, yours was by far the best
Thanks!
The red door works well for Ruby Tuesday. However, Carmi is perfect in this photo – I figure the red door is the perfect prop that highlights the adorable Carmi.
Too bad ours are not little anymore (sigh!)
Oh, dear. Second person who thought Carmi is my daughter. Need to do a re-write.
Thanks for visiting, Ralph!
Now that’s adorable!!! It’s a perfect picture for both meme’s Leora!
lol, I noticed how people thought your daughters name was Carmi, at first I wondered why you added that on to the post.
she’s the same one from that other picture at the school?
cute kid.
Is it taken from an extra high angel? or regular standing?
Babysitter, I only have one daughter. (Which other picture at the school? You mean the Simchat Beit Hashoeva one?)
I guess I was looking down at her. I was purposely including the red door, because I love Ruby Tuesday! (thanks, Mary, wherever you are)
By the blurry photo, yea, by Simchas Beis Hashoeva I think. I remember there were other little skirts in the background so for some reason I thought it was her classroom.
ahh I see, o, and I forgot to comment on the red door, it looks like such a nice fresh coat of paint. My mother loves painting, so she always paints are front steps red for some reason, and that picture reminded me of it, one of the times it was that same shade of red.
Your daughter is beautiful Leora!!
Aw, your daughter is adorable, Leora! Love the expression on her face!
Happy Ruby Tuesday, or Thursday, or in this case, Saturday ;-D
better late than never!
