Watery Wednesday: Rain Songs
I took this photo last week of the creek that runs on the edge of Highland Park.
Above are some garden shovels that got poured upon in some recent rains.
As we’ve been getting more rain than snow (update: it snowed today a bit), please feel free to leave your favorite rain song as a comment. Or if you’re in a snow zone, snow songs are welcome, too. Drought victims choose as you like.

These are great photos, love the first one especially.

A lot of our snow has melted or evaporated away...so I wishing for snow too. It makes everything look clean and fresh this time of year.

Good choices for Watery Wednesday. I have not favorite Rain or Snow songs, sorry.

Rain..rain..go away..come back another day..childhood ditty..

We had sunshine today. Yah. But tomorrow the snow returns. But then there is more water to take photos of. Creeks are fun to watch when they rise and fall as they breathe in and out to the rythms of life.

We're getting rain and snow... well, snow if you live up in the mountains. And sorry, can't think of a single rain song. Oh wait...
Raindrops keep fallin' on my head
And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed
Nothin' seems to fit
Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin'
So I just did me some talkin' to the sun
And I said I didn't like the way he got things done
Sleepin' on the job
Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin'

Nice post!
It's summer here, and it's been very wet. Can't think of any rain or snow songs...
Mojo says
Hmm... well there was "Red Rain" by Peter Gabriel. "The Rain Song" by Led Zeppelin. And for a little bit of clever wordplay you could stretch it with "Love Reign O'er Me" by The Who. Off hand that's all I got.
But I love the creek anyway!

"I'm singing in the rain!" or "let it snow let it snow let it snow"
...and it is ..snowing..right now!!
Aisha says
That is a beautiful shot of the creek. I don't want snow anymore lol. I want something like this.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Your blog is delightful.
Rain songs, hmmmmmm. How about 'Rain Rain go away
Little Marybeth wants to play'. Appropiate for Western Washington--snow is a novelity. MB

Great pictures... as for the song, the only thing I can think of is "Rain Rain Go Away.."
My Watery Wednesday entry is posted here. You're very much welcome to check it out if you have the time. Thanks.

The creek photo is so idyllic. I'd love to have one like that on my property!
Favorite song - "Singing In The Rain" and "Let It Snow" - might as well be happy with whatever precip you get. :)

I too love the first shot, seeing those last few remaining leaves on the tree.....

That creek looks like a lovely spot to meander :).
As for songs, It's Raining Again is the first one that popped into my head.

How about 'dancing in the rain' - now you know that I'll be thinking of that, and maybe a few other rain songs, throughout the day, don't you? Not the worst thing that could happen to a fellow.

Love the tangle of brush and the little bit of reflection in the creekbed. And the golden leaves are just the right touch! Being a real music person, I have many favorite songs about rain, but I think I'll go with the Ronettes' 1964 hit, "Walkin in the Rain"

I like your watery pictures.

Very little rain here in Israel; the Rabbis have instituted an extra tefilla (prayer) for rain.

Regn, regn go away...come again some other day. LOL. :)
It's raining here today, again, and again.
Lovely photos!

We have been drought victims, until very recently. It has been raining, and raining. Today we felt like "Rain, rain go away, come another day" but we still have so much to catch up on it makes me feel quilty to think that.
Leora says
Leedra and Baila, I thought of Israel and Australia when I wrote the post. Sounds like Israel could use some of the rain we have been getting.
Please leave a comment! I love to hear from you.
