Sky Watch Friday is a photo meme with photos of sunrises, sunsets, blue skies, gray skies, pink skies, dark skies and any other kind of sky posted by bloggers all over the planet.
I took this photo from the car (I wasn’t driving, don’t worry), and it has less blur than many of my “from the car” photos. Toys R Us has a smart marketing department; the logo for Kohl’s, a store that sells discount clothing, does not stand out nearly as much.
Detail of logos taken from the photo:
Lovely skies over the NY skyline ;–)
Hugs and blessings,
I simply love the first shot. It seems to come from an Americna movie: the jogger in NY City. Very Woody Allen type of atmosphere.
It’s the same shot. The bottom is just a detail. I was fixated by that logo, that it makes such an impression on me every time we travel that piece of the Belt Parkway.
It’s simply too hard to resist shooting while on a moving vehicle, which I assume you were on when you snapped this. Lovely snaps.
Nice pictures. Very different views than what I’m used to. That is one giant sign.
Toys R Us has a great logo, I agree. Even kids recognize it, which I’m sure was part of the plan. 😉
Thank you for making Brooklyn look good.
For me, Brooklyn is “drive through” territory, as I have 2 sister-in-laws in Queens. I always like this part of the drive, because it’s fun to watch all the various people walking along the river.
Leora: Those are beautiful views of the sky over the city.
Great skies in
Brooklyn.
Beautiful shots Leora.
Happy weekend.
A NY skyline is always fascinating to see!
I know advertising is necessary but this one seems so obtrusive to the skyline. I’m thinking a nice marina mural maybe. 🙂
I love Kohls though. We have them here as well.
Good point – often business advertising conflicts with beauty. I like when business builds a beautiful building, like the Chrysler Building in Manhattan. They get advertising via the name of the building, but they also add to the look of the city in a positive way.
Nice shot. Those sky scrapers under the blue sky are very nice.
Both of these photos show something unique about the city. I like the perspectives.
I agree with that – they design the thing so the kids would scream for it every time they pass near 🙂 That is a beautiful skyline!
I never thought I would see this Toys R US on Skywatch!
That is indeed a lovely American cityscape view. I have spent a few happy hours in that very store in Brooklyn entertaining wedding guests and buying inflatable ducks for the reception (fun wedding) and we are from California.
seems relaxed
I love the first photo, with the runner in the image. What a serene capture of the setting.
Beautiful images!
