I didn’t have much time to blog this week, as my kids are off from school and we went on vacation to the Berkshire Mountains.

If I had more blogging time this week, I would have done a Nature Notes post about both Tu B’Shvat (the Jewish holiday of the trees) and Parshat B’Shalach, before which one is supposed to feed the birds. Here is a nice story about the Maharal, feeding birds, and teaching children.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Describe Person Experiment. You are still most welcome to participate!

You could always had posts to Nature Notes whenever you want. I think some day I am going to go out into the yard and fall into a snow drift till spring..LOL...Michelle

Yes, but the holiday is tonight, so if I were totally organized I would have written the post last summer, when I "had the time." (in other words, it wasn't happening). Truth is, I'm not even sure what I would say, other than what I said... there's a custom to feed the birds. And I like that one!

Maybe on Sunday I'll set up my bird feeder.

Thank you for the link! It does help, but it's still very difficult to articulate properly.

Shabbat Shalom.

"difficult to articulate properly" - a lot of my emotions are difficult to articulate, so that's one of the reasons I take photos and draw.

You've got such a great eye. I never even noticed the similarities in palate between Ilana-Davita's lovely photo and mine.

Shabbat shalom.

I love fence and chain link shots; I sometimes take them just because I like the texture. But the leaf here makes it actually worth the picture.

What I liked about this shot was how the plastic in the pool area made the background blue. You the viewer don't even know it's a plastic blue (except I just told you).

As someone who blogs about tech, I've learned that chain linked fences can be a good analogy for links on the web.
