אֲנִי חֲבַצֶּלֶת הַשָּׁרוֹן, שׁוֹשַׁנַּת הָעֲמָקִים
"I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys."
Even though this is almost definitely NOT the flower referred to by Song of Songs, it is a beautiful flower to have growing in one’s backyard. Mine grew “by accident”, a cast-off from one of my neighbors’ plants. It grows like a weed. I just have to trim what’s growing around the little flowering tree.
This is my first submission to Today’s Flowers, which appear every Monday.
Thanks for pointing out this new challenge!
Great photos.
I love hibiscus, my mother grows them in her garden, too, just the same colour as yours!
Very nice shot!
The flower is lovely and how nice to learn of ‘todays flowers’, its sounds interesting. Glad you enjoyed my Redstart, thanks for your visit.

Oh, this is lovely!
The rose of Sharon grows into a lovely shrub. They grow here but I bet they grow even better in New Jersey where the climate is warmer.
This is so pretty!
They are stunning here in Ontario at this time of year. How lucky that you got one by chance. I am planning to add them to the Kahshe garden next year.
My Flower Here
What a pretty flower that is! I love the color.
Leora: The Rose of Sharon is a beutiful flower and is ablaze everywhere in the area.
Nice colors. I like it very much.

What an amazing flower! That was a lucky “accident” – I would like to have one in my garden.

I think Rose of Sharon has got to be one of my favorite flowers. I like your photos very much. I like the color of your Rose of Sharon.
Well, I just joined Luiz Santilli Junior’s flowers group and planted some flowers and they are already in bloom at my new blog, Thunder Maker.
It looks like I am going to have to try and catch up with everyone. So many blogs to stop at and make comments.

How beautiful–reminds me of living in Chicago where I saw these everywhere.
Welcome to Today’s Flowers!
Happy week.
Lovely!
I have some of these in my own backyard – same color too. The deer love nibbling on the branches.
Thanks for visiting my post today and your lovely comments.
Beautiful picture
Hibiscus plants are fantastic. Of great versatility and beauty.
The picture is so pretty, and I love the Song of Songs reference. Sorry I haven’t been here much, I’ve been so busy, just not enough hours in the day lately. I miss your blog when I don’t visit. Soon, kids will be back in school and things will calm down and go back to normal. (I hope, I hope, I hope!)
Pretty! The petals remind me of a wild rose.
