Last Sunday we went to Sandy Hook, a lovely beach with dunes at the top of the New Jersey Shore. There is a bay side and an ocean side to Sandy Hook.

In contrast to the golden sunset above, the sky was blue at the beach a few hours earlier.
Sky Watch Friday is a photo meme with photos of sunrises, sunsets, blue skies, gray skies, pink skies, dark skies and any other kind of sky posted by bloggers all over the planet.
The first picture is amazing! I like how you captured the sun’s reflection on the water…
Thanks. That was taken from the car, as we were stuck in traffic at Sandy Hook for almost 3 hours. Everything there is one lane. There are benefits to being stuck in traffic if you are in a beautiful place.
Gorgeous! I really like the first one.
Love your photo of the sunset with the sun reflected in the water, stunning! Sounds like you had a wonderful day beachside (or bayside!)
The sunset is wonderful but I really liked those few faint whisps of cloud in the blue sky in the second shot. They made for a nice detail to the whole lovely view. Like someone had gone over the sky with a small and pointed paintbrush.
Thanks for your comment on the second picture. Appreciated!
what a beautiful color the sun bathes the water with
Lovely captures you have posted. It looks like you had a great time at the bay/beach.
Thanks for your visit and comments.
I also find your sunset awesome.
Your photos are making me feel envious of your beautiful weather, Leora! Beautiful photos. 😉
That sunset is beautiful. You are wise to be on the beach on Sunday, it was H-O-T around that part of the country.
On the other hand, we were stuck in traffic on the way there for an extra hour and *3* hours in traffic in Sandy Hook itself on the way back. The “wisdom” had its drawbacks.
Awesome sunset, Leora! But the other photo is also beautiful! Thanks for your sharing.
Thanks also for the visit and comment on the tragedy in my country!
I was so sorry to read about the tragedy in the Netherlands today.
Great sunset, good skywatch Friday post.
How beautiful – that reflected light in the water is just glorious.
Sandy Hook was always our beach of choice too when I was a kid, probably because it was the closest, but also because it wasn’t all icky and overdeveloped like some of the other beaches “down the shore”.
The big A made by the planes is a real catch! Incredible actually.
Really great photos! Sunsets are always fabulous!
